Reverse Engineering
This function can best be described as the process of measuring an existing physical item which has not been previously developed in a 3D cad package, typically by 3D scanning or point probe digitising and using the resulting data to create a fully engineered cad model, combining design intent and all the manufacturing and packaging requirements. In other words using a physical part to create a full digital replica to original design intent. This is a core part of our business. We have many years of CAD experience and this allied to our range of 3D scanning technology allows us to provide a full and comprehensive service. Reverse engineering should not be confused with digital.
We can supply a range of formats as the deliverable.
This service is ideal for tool or mould makers. We can take current production parts or tooling with no existing 2D drawings or 3D cad models and use these as reference for creating a full design model. This is particularly useful where tolls are worn or coming to the end of their productive life. This process is also specially appropriate on legacy parts.
